We're Going on a Bear Hunt television adaption for Channel 4 this Christmas

We're Going on a Bear Hunt, the hit bedtime book by Michael Rosen, is coming to our television screens this Christmas.

Broadcaster Channel 4 has announced it will screen the half hour Christmas treat which has been produced by the makers of The Snowman and The Snowdog.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt follows the adventures of siblings Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max, the baby and Rufus the dog, who decide one day to go on an adventure in search of bears.

It will feature the voices of Olivia Colman, Mark Williams and Kent-based actress Pam Ferris who lives near Canterbury.

The story follows the family on their intrepid outing as they come up against a host of obstacles and venture through whirling snowstorms, thick oozing mud and dark forests on their ambitious quest.

Channel 4’s half hour film is described as 'expanding the universe' of the much-loved book for a truly festive family treat.

Acclaimed British singer-songwriter George Ezra has written and recorded the theme song while author Michael Rosen will also play his part and star as the bear himself.
