Marvel & DC Comic-Con returning to Quex Park in Birchington
Sci-fi fans are “in for a treat” when the Marvel & DC Comic-Con returns to Kent with an expanded line-up.
Organisers of last year's event, which saw almost 10,000 fans flock to Quex Park in Birchington, say the sequel on Sunday promises to be bigger and better.
This year the door has been opened to other sci-fi and fantasy genres, including Stranger Things, House of the Dragon, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr Who.
Organiser Gerald McCarthy said: “We had great fun last year with Marvel & DC but we thought for 2023 we'd broaden the appeal even further, which is why we're adding Stranger Things elements.
“A life-size Demogorgan and Vecna props are among things fans can pose with, and Stranger Things star Tom Wlaschiha, who played Enzo in series four, will be meeting and greeting fans.”
Those that enjoyed the award-winning House of The Dragon series can also meet stars Sam Collett and Elliot Grihault.
Red Dwarf and Brittas Empire Star Chris Barrie will be popping along to meet fans, and visitors can catch sight of Black Widow actress Yolanda Lynes.
Creature actor Paul Warren, whose credits include Guardians of the Galaxy, Harry Potter and Star Wars, will also make an appearance.
Mr McCarthy said: “We'll have droids, wookies, and storm troopers from Star Wars interacting with fans, along with some impressive props and movie vehicles from film franchises, including the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 car, Batmobile, Surfer Boy’s Pizza van from Stranger Things and countless cosplayers.
“For the little ones we have Cinderella and host of fairytale characters attending, along with Cinderella's beautiful carriage that children can pose in, which we're sure will go down a treat.”
Fans can also expect live music, a food court, activities, giant inflatables, a gamer bus with retro gaming and VR zone, a Q&A session with guests, performances from Titan The Robot, comic book artists and merchandise stands.
