What is happening in Kent this weekend?

Fancy a Big Day Out? A visit to the Little Kingdom? Or some Tentertainment?

The county has an action packed weekend ahead.

Here are some of biggest and best events we think are taking place for families:

Big Day Out, Mote Park, Maidstone

Saturday, July 1

Louisa Johnson and dance troupe Diversity are among the acts performing at Mote Park's Big Day Out this Saturday.

The one-day festival is packed full of entertainment and plenty for families.

Reggie 'n' Bollie, Atomic Kitten and tribute act Supreme Queen will also be among the musical performers while youngsters will be well catered for with a Mr Bloom stage show, visits by Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol and Cbeebies stars Bing and Flop.

There will also be inflatables, drum, dance and circus schools and plenty of refreshments to keep everyone fed and watered.

Tentertainment, Tenterden Recreation Ground

Entertainment, live bands and a family-friendly party atmosphere for three whole days and completely free of charge!

It can only mean one thing... family music festival Tentertainment is back for another summertime session.

The festival regularly attracts more than 10,000 people each year and has a mixture of performances for all ages.

Kent Police open day, Kent Police College complex in Coverdale Avenue, Maidstone

Sunday, July 2 from 10am to 4pm

Take your budding pint-sized police officers along to Kent Police's annual open day at the college in Maidstone where they will be celebrating 160 years of policing in the county.

The event on Sunday will include police dog, public order and safety demonstrations, get tips on road safety and meet the police dog, marine, motorcycle, helicopter and crash investigation teams, spend time in a cell, collect evidence and learn how to keep your home safe.

Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom, Orchard Theatre, Dartford

Every day is an adventure in Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom – even when it comes to helping grumpy Gaston the Ladybird clean up his cave.

The fairy and elf will be bringing their Little Kingdom to the stage at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford, on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2.

Chilham Castle will play host to the Chilham Chase this Saturday which is a fun run with a difference.

Teams of two or more will be donning fancy dress for the two-mile run or walk which also includes a number of obstacles on the route.

A family fete, musical festival, classic cars and other attractions are also all part of the energetic day.

Gru returns with his minions for another fun-packed adventure.

Falconry displays, have-a-go archery and cycle your own smoothie are just some of the wild and wonderful attractions at this family day out.

The Friends of Westgate Parks open day promises a packed programme of entertainment at the city's open spaces, starting at 10am.

There will be lots of games and refreshments to keep you occupied and entry is free.
