Everything going on in Kent this weekend

This weekend there is plenty going on across the county to keep the little ones busy, from heading out on an animal trail at a National Trust venue to free toy workshops there's lots to keep everyone occupied.

STICK MANIA at Riverhill Gardens, Sevenoaks

There’s some Stick Mania on offer at the Himalayan Gardens near Sevenoaks through to Sunday, June 3, so go and get creative by making absolutely anything from sticks. What will you make? The creative fun is on offer between 11am and 4pm at the gardens in Riverhill, Sevenoaks, TN15 0RR. For more details go to riverhillgardens.co.uk or call 01732 459777.

BILLY GOATS GRUFF TRAIL at Ightham Mote

The Billy Goats Gruff trail at the National Trust property near Borough Green runs to the end of half term, on Sunday, June 3.

Using a compass, follow the trail and tick off one of the trust’s 50 Things to Do Before You Are 11¾. While at the site head to the natural play area and enjoy a picnic. The trail runs between 10am and 4pm. Normal admission charges apply, £2.50 per trail.

OPEN DAY at Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway

The Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway will be opening its doors for an open day on Sunday, June 3, with services in attendance including the fire service and the RNLI.

Entry costs £10, and £4 for children aged three to 15, with under threes free, which includes rides and parking. Car park opens at 10.30am and the line closes at 5pm. Details at bwlr.co.uk

PAPER TOYS WORKSHOP at Guidhall Museum, Rochester

These free workshops at the Guildhall Museum in Rochester on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, are inspired by vintage paper toys from the Victorian era. All materials are supplied for you to create and take away. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The guildhall is open 10am to 5pm. DIGGERLAND at Strood

There's some 20 different rides and drives, and more than 100 machines to marvel at and visitors can experience the thrills of spinning in an awesome digger bucket on the Spindizzy ride, operate a giant JCB 806 digger or race around in a go-kart. FARMYARD FAIRYTALES at Kent Life, Maidstone

There will be some Farmyard Fairy Tales alongside themed activities until Sunday, June 3. Young visitors can plant a beanstalk and help build the three little pigs' house, as well as join in the usual activities, including the Paint-a-Pot studio, donkey rides and bouncy castle.
