The days may be cooler and it is definitely getting darker sooner but there is still plenty to do out and about in Kent.

1. The Night Pirates, Theatre Royal, Margate

Sunday, November 12

The Night Pirates is a swashbuckling tale with original songs of little pirates adapted from the bestselling children’s book by Peter Harris and Deborah Allwright. It tells the tale of a band of little girl pirates who descend on a young boy called Tom and eager to join the pirate adventure, Tom uses his house as a pirate ship and sets sail to retrieve stolen treasure from Captain Patch and the bumbling adult pirates.

2. Ghost Tours for Kids, Maidstone Museum

Thursday, November 9 and Thursday, November 16, 5pm-6pm

Leave the kids with a storyteller to explore the museum’s most creepy rooms. And let them finish by icing their own gingerbread ghost! The tours are suitable for children aged seven to 11. 3. KM Charity Abseil, Maidstone

Take part in an abseil challenge and raise money for the good cause of your choice with the abseil organised by the KM Charity Team. The event will be on Sunday, November 23 between 9am and 4pm. 4. Saturday Children's Christmas Workshops, Cliftonville

The children’s Christmas workshops run at the studio in Northdown Road, Cliftonville through to Saturday, December 2. This Saturday’s event is to make a Christmas bowl. Sessions cost £8 each. For details go to picknpaintapot.co.uk

In cinemas from Friday, November 10

This second installment continues the adventures of the little bear from Peru, now that he’s a permanent member of the Brown family and a popular member of the local community. The movie picks up as Paddington's Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday is coming up, and he’s trying to find the perfect present for her. Find out more at Odeon, Vue or Cineworld.

6. Christmas craft fair, Church Street, Minster

Saturday, November 11

It's almost the season to be jolly. And as we all get ready for the festive period, why not get the kids involved? A Christmas craft fair can be the ideal thing to get them making their own Christmas tree decorations and biscuits. It's also a good chance for them to enjoy the gifts, crafts, tombola and refreshments. Entry is free.

A market dedicated to the selling of pre-owned children's clothes and toys is taking place in Whitstable.
