Dreamland in Margate confirms log flume for 2025 and return of all-day wristband deal - but no news yet on Scenic Railway
Dreamland bosses have revealed major new rides and prices for the upcoming summer season - but one of its best-known attractions will remain closed for its reopening.
The Margate park - which this year celebrates 10 years since it was brought back to life - has confirmed a log flume will return to be one of its showpiece rides.
Last seen at the park in 2016, the Log Flume ride will line up alongside the Big Wheel, Pirate Ship, Dodgems and Rock ‘N’ Roller rollercoaster and a host of other attractions.
But there’s no news yet as to the reopening of perhaps its most famous ride - the Scenic Railway.
It was forced to close last August after a ride came to a dramatic halt as a gaping hole appeared in the wooden tracks.
Passengers had to be escorted off Britain’s oldest rollercoaster and the ride shut down for the rest of the season.
But in trumpeting its line-up for 2025, there’s no mention of the famous ride.
A spokesperson for the park would only say, when asked by KentOnline: “Plans for the Scenic Railway will be confirmed further into the 2025 season.”
Dreamland reopens for the Easter holidays on April 5 until April 21 and then weekends and school holidays until remaining open daily during the summer. It will then close before reopening for the October half-term.
It has also confirmed the reintroduction of an all-day ride wristband.
Once an essential purchase, the Mega Ride wristband will allow access to all the park’s rides for a day and cost £24.99. A Tiny Tots wristband - limited to certain smaller rides - will be available for £12.99. Standard ride tokens will be £3 each, with each ride being worth one token.
Other additions include VR games in the Roller Room.
Once again, though, the key attraction to the park will be its string of big-name summer concerts.
Among those performing this year will be the likes of Supergrass, Madness, Basement Jaxx, local favourites The Libertines, Tom Jones and the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter.
Eddie Kemsley, CEO at Dreamland - which is now owned by entertainment giant Live Nation subsidiary, LN Gaiety - believes it will be a summer to remember.
She said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to enjoy the season with us, from incredible music events to traditional seaside fun with rides, food, ice cream and seagulls - it’s going to be great.”
