Preloved baby and children's clothes and toys to be sold in Broadstairs, Thanet on Sunday, February 26

New and pre-loved children's clothes, toys and other items are to be sold at 'bargain' prices this weekend in one Kent town.

The first Mummy to Mummy Fair is being held in Thanet to help families pass on good quality items their children no longer need at reasonable prices.

With the cost of living crisis ongoing, organisers behind the event say they hope the fair will provide sellers with extra cash that they can put towards the things their children need for the 'next stage' while helping new parents snap-up essentials for less - all while being kinder to the environment.

Both new and pre-loved items will be for sale with children's clothing, toys, equipment and parenting essentials all expected to be up for grabs.

The event on Sunday (February 26) is happening in Broadstairs and also forms part of Thanet district's drive to 'reuse, reduce and recyle' by enabling other families to put to good use items some households no longer need but have taken good care of.

Items on sale will cover children from birth up to the age of five and prices are expected to start as low as 20p.

Families can enter the fair between 10am and 1pm, with public entry £1 while those who wish to run a stall subject to availability should email thanetvirtualhighstreet@gmail.com

The Mummy to Mummy fair takes place at Under 1 Roof in Pysons Road, Broadstairs.

Karen Brinkman from the organising team said it's a great opportunity for families to grab some great quality clothes and toys while saving themselves money.

She added: "I recently became a nanny myself and our little grandson is growing very very quickly so I see first hand how quickly and how much they get through so to be able to pass some of that on to other mummies seems like a brilliant idea."
