Fantastic Mr Fox stage show at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford
Fantastic Mr Fox is a playful re-telling of Roald Dahl’s much-loved book, brought to life with live music and songs.
A juicy tale of greed, pride and the power of friendship, the show comes to the Kent stage later this month for a six-night run.
The musical adaptation is a flagship production for the Roald Dahl 100 celebrations marking the centenary year of the world’s No.1 storyteller.
The production follows on from last year’s Steven Spielberg film, The BFG, which included the voice of Ashford-born Mark Rylance.
Roald Dahl was a spy, ace fighter-pilot, chocolate historian and medical inventor – and his imagination brought us some of the best children’s stories ever such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach.
Published in 1970, Fantastic Mr Fox was made into a film in 2009 for Wes Anderson’s Oscar-nominated movie version, which included the voice of George Clooney in the title role.
The stage show was commission by Nuffield and Curve in association with Lyric Hammersmith and features music by composer Arthur Darvill, best known as Rory in BBC TV’s Doctor Who and as Rev Paul Coates on ITV’s Broadchurch.
