More December dates added to Drive Thru Christmas event in Detling
Further dates have been added to Kent's first ever drive-thru Christmas event.
The Drive In Winter Wonderland attraction is being organised by Phoenix Fireworks from Wrotham.
The event between December 18 and December 20 will include a drive through festive attraction, concert and fireworks display.
But due to overwhelming popularity two extra dates have been added which will be accompanied by a stage pyrotechnics finale instead of fireworks.
Phoenix Fireworks had initially hoped to hold a socially distanced drive-in fireworks event in November. But when the second lockdown happened the event was rearranged with a Christmas theme.
Despite Kent's current Tier 3 restrictions it can still go ahead for ticket holders.
The event will take place in the huge outdoor space at Detling's Kent Showground.
Families will drive in through a Christmas tree avenue promising surprises and the appearance of Father Christmas, his elves and reindeer where from his grotto he will be able to wave at youngsters.
Children are asked to come to the winter wonderland with their letters which can be posted on site before families park up for an evening of entertainment which will include a Christmas concert and conclude with a display from Phoenix Fireworks on the first three evenings and with pyrotechnics on the additional dates.
Each evening the gates will open at 4pm and visitors will be able to watch the Christmas show from their cars and in their own 'pod' 2m away from the next car. Refreshment stops and toilets will also be available. Tickets are priced at £50 for a car, plus booking fee, and can be booked here.
