Sculpture Safari, an outdoor sculpture trail inspired by animals, will open at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone, for the August bank holiday weekend
A maze of stunning animal sculptures will return to one of Kent’s historic castles for the bank holiday weekend.
The Sculpture Safari trail is a collection of wildlife-themed sculptures created by local artists and is set to take over the grounds of Leeds Castle, near Maidstone.
This year, the trail is part of the castle’s anniversary celebrations, marking the 50th year of the Leeds Castle Foundation.
The foundation is a charity organisation that supports the 900-year-old castle by helping with on-site conservation and restoration projects.
As part of the anniversary, the sculpture trail will give visitors a chance to admire more than 20 different pieces of artwork over its six-week opening.
There is a self-guided trail map to follow, with each sculpture having its own unique facts and distinctive appearance to help spark visitors’ imaginations.
The pieces also have their own plaques so you can find out more about the artist and what inspired them to create their animal-themed artwork.
The trail also encourages visitors to explore the grounds of the castle, which include beautiful summer gardens and local wildlife, and soak up the natural beauty of the estate.
The Sculpture Safari is open from Saturday, August 24 to Sunday, October 6. You can book your Leeds Castle tickets online here.
Adult tickets start from £31.50. Once purchased, your ticket is valid for entry to Leeds Castle for 12 months.
