Dessert shop opening in phone box outside Ramsgate Wetherspoons

A popular burger joint has opened a “wacky” new dessert shop serving treats such as “ice cream nachos” within a beach-front red phone box.

Dirtee Feast Desserts is based within the phone box in front of Ramsgate’s seafront Wetherspoon.

The new shop “in the heart” of the town is serving topped doughnuts, dirty popcorn and ice cream nachos - wafers covered in sauce and ice cream.

The “unique” venue is owned by Dean Adams owner of much-loved take-away Dirtee Feast.

He told KentOnline: “The opportunity came up and I like to do things differently and stand out so I started working on a concept.

“I was drawn to it because it was unique.”

The 38-year-old explained: “There’s already lots of ice cream places around Ramsgate harbour so I wanted to be different and do something that wasn’t already in the area.”

He is renting two boxes, which were recently seen on the market and were previously used as Ring Ring Ice Cream.

The small size of the shop could put some off, however Mr Adams “has a plan” for working in close quarters.

He said: “I’ve been kitting it out already with compact things.

“One box will be for stock and the other will be the eye opener which we sell from.”

Dirtee Feast was previously found within The Ravensgate Arms, however the pub closed, and talks are now in the works to move the diner to a bigger location.

The doughnut shop will start serving just on the weekends from 11am to 6pm, but plans to open daily through the school holidays, weather permitting.
