A Tale of Christmas Leeds Castle, Maidstone

You're never too old for Beatrix Potter. To mark the 150th anniversary of the children author's birth, head to Leeds Castle for a new family day out. They'll be displays around the castle to bring back the magic of Beatrix's tales, including an interpretation of her writing desk complete with paints and brushes.

The Frosted Fairground Dreamland, Margate
Opens Saturday, December 3 and runs to Monday, January 2
Make a day out at Dreamland extra special at the Frosted Fairground. The Margate attraction's winter wonderland will feature vintage rides, yuletide treats and even a pop-up panto. As always, Dreamland is free to enter and everything is on a pay as you ride basis.

Dickensian Christmas Rochester
Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4
Rochester will transform into a Victorian haven for the traditional Dickensian weekend. There'll be plenty to see and do including shopping, a lamp lit parade, carols and a chance to meet Father Christmas. The kids will love pointing out the roaming street performers.

A Churchill family Christmas Chartwell House, Westerham
Saturday, December 3 (plus selected dates throughout December)
Step back in time at the National Trust property and experience what Christmas might have been like in the 1920s in Churchill's household. Four of the Chartwell's rooms will be decorated appropriately, including the hall and dining room. Entrance to the house is by timed ticket only.

A Truly Magical Christmas Rare Breeds Centre, Highlands Farm, Ashford

Winter Wonderland Weekend The Ascot Arms, Gravesend
Friday, December 2 - Sunday, November 4
Join The Ascot Arms for a weekend of festivities. On Friday evening, Santa will kick of celebrations by arriving in time for the lights switch on and carols. Kids will able to visit him in his grotto on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is the crafty day for families, including wreath and card making. Go along Sunday to meet a real reindeer and walk around the Christmas market. For parents mulled wine is available all weekend!
