Brick History Month: LEGO models at The Historic Dockyard Chatham
SPONSORED EDITORIAL
Pivotal moments in history are being depicted in more than 40 LEGO models at a top Kent attraction this summer.
Fans of the brick will be able to build up their own picture of the world's history when Brick History Month arrives at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.
The exhibition opens on Friday, July 6 and will run for the entire school summer break, eventually closing on Sunday, September 16.
What is more - entry to the exhibition is included within the price of a Dockyard ticket, which gives you admission to all of its attractions and exhibitions for an entire year.
Brick History Month is at the Medway attraction as part of events to celebrate 400 years of The Historic Dockyard.
Among the 43 displays covering important moments in history are models of the moon landing, suffragette movement, Viking invasions, cave paintings, the invention of the wheel and the birth of the industrial revolution.
A number of famous figures are also included with President Obama, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Mozart and Isaac Newton all given a brick model makeover.
There is also a reconstruction of Rochester Castle among the monuments which took six weeks to build and required some 25-year-old LEGO bricks in order to portray the different shades of grey stone in the walls.
And visitors left feeling creative after exploring the exhibition should head to the interactive zone for even more LEGO-themed fun.
With soft bricks for the little ones and original LEGO bricks for older children and adults - its an opportunity for everyone inspired by the models they've seen to have a go at building their own creation.
And pictures of designs and builds uploaded to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook which tag The Historic Dockyard and use the hashtag #brickhistory will be automatically entered into a competition to win a LEGO prize.
