A host of much-loved children's authors will be sharing their expertise with junior bookworms at an exciting event this month.
Among them will be Axel Scheffler - illustrator of The Gruffalo - and Cressida Cowell, the writer behind the How To Train Your Dragon series of stories that was then adapted for the big screen by movie giants Dreamworks.
Their appearances form part of Sevenoaks Young Readers Festival on Saturday, September 29.
Billed as a 'brilliant bookish event' for families and children it has been organised by Sevenoaks Bookshop.
Split between a number of venues across Sevenoaks, with both ticketed and free events, the day is packed full with storytelling, worshops, question and answer sessions and book signings.
Axel Scheffler will be drawing characters from his books, talking about his work and reading stories like The Ugly Five, his latest collaboration with Julia Donaldson.
Emma Fischel will be running writing workshops for children aged nine to 12 while there will be book-related craft activities with organisation The Art Trolley and artist Lorena Carbajal from a marquee in Vine Gardens.
Many events are free and do not require a ticket, others must be booked in advance and availability is limited.
The festival day begins at 10am.
