Fancy a weekend away with the kids that doesn't cost the earth? Here's our guide to the best campsites right on your doorstep in Kent.

Thriftwood Park

A hidden gem in the heart of the Kent countryside at the top of Wrotham Hill, near Brands Hatch. It offers something for everyone, including an outdoor heated swimming pool, children’s play park, games room. Plus a licensed bar and lounge for the grown ups! It’s the perfect peaceful break with good on-site facilities set in eight acres of woodland.

Broadhembury Caravan & Camping Park

A fantastic place to set up camp and spend family time together with excellent amenities and play facilities provided with children and babies in mind. The park in Ashford features warm spacious showers and toilets, with full underfloor central heating. A family bathroom is also available along with camper’s kitchen facilities including a fridge, chest freezer, microwave ovens and sinks.

Folkestone Camping and Caravanning Club

Set on a dramatic cliff top position with stunning views of the sea and chalky cliffs of the Folkestone-Dover coast. This site is perfect for dog owners to enjoy the scenic walking routes by the coast. WiFi is available for all campers. The site has a mix of grass and hardstand pitches and sits close to Folkestone’s harbour, promenade and sandy beach.

Canterbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Only a mile away from Canterbury, it’s a great area to explore. This campsite also provides a whole new way of camping — Glamping! Rather than pitching up your own tent, you can rent canvas-wrapped luxury tents with cosy furnishings. They sleep up to six people comfortably with beds, a sofa, dining area and kitchen.
