Will.i.am records video message for Dartford Science & Technology College pupils on flight to New York

by My Kent Family reporter

The headteacher of a Kent school bumped in to Will.i.am on a flight to New York and got him to film a message for her pupils.

The superstar was — in the words of Black Eyed Peas' band mate Fergie — flying first class up in the sky when Anne Davies, who is at the helm of Heath Lane's Dartford Science & Technology College, spotted him.

She was flying to the US for a half-term break and couldn't resist the urge to say hello.

Knowing he was a big fan of technology she approached him during the seven-and-a-half-hour journey and asked if he would record the clip.

The mother-of-one said: "He actually wasn't getting much attention but I couldn't resist asking him.

"He was just such a lovely, caring man. He actually took the time to think about what he was going to say.

"He spoke to me about the school he's started which has gone from 60 to 600 pupils and showed a genuine interest in our school."

She added: "He accidentally took a selfie to start with.

"All the girls were absolutely blown away. I have of course written to him to thank him and invite him to our school."
