The photos show a modern dining hall with rows of white tables and benches, design and technology workshops, kitchen classrooms and dance studios.

Outside there are sports courts, cycle racks and electric car charging points in the car park.

A spokesman for the school off Otterham Quay Lane, said: "Over the next few weeks the Leigh Academies Trust IT Development team will begin installing all the necessary digital and communication systems ready for teaching in September."

Plans were approved for the academy in January 2020 after the Department of Education has identified the need for two more schools in the Medway area.

It will be the only mixed-sex non-selective comprehensive in the area, as other schools in Rainham are single-sex.
