Primark in Bluewater to reopen for 24 hours to help Kent Christmas shoppers
Primark is to re-open its flagship Kent store for 24 hours to give Christmas shoppers a chance to catch up with their festive buying.
The firm has announced it is to open its 153 branches in England from Wednesday (December 2) with extended trading hours in all of them.
But Primark in Bluewater will be one of 11 to open for 24 hours-plus to kick things off.
The aim is to help customers spread shopping hours, reduce queues and therefore enable greater social distancing.
It will open at 7am on Wednesday, December 2 right through until closing time on December 3.
Primark stores in retail parks and major shopping centres will trade until at least 10pm, with some stores trading as late as midnight. All other stores across England will trade until at least 8pm on weekdays until December 23.
During December, Primark’s UK stores will trade until at least 8pm on weekdays. High street stores and town shopping centre stores will open until 8pm, those on retail parks will trade until at least 10pm as will those in major shopping centres although Bluewater will be open until 11pm.
All stores continue to have extensive safety measures in place including strict social distancing protocols, limits on the number of customers allowed in at any one time, hand sanitisation stations on entry, Perspex screens or cubicles at tills, the use of face masks in-store and increased in-store cleaning.
Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said: “We have everything this season that our customers expect from Primark, including our famous Christmas jumpers, festive pyjamas and much, much more. All of our extensive safety measures remain in place to help ensure shopping at Primark is an enjoyable, safe experience for everyone.”
