Personalised Quality Street tins available online this Christmas instead of in John Lewis stores

Quality Street fans looking to get their hands on a personalised tin for the family to enjoy over Christmas can now buy online for the first time this year.

Last year shoppers flocked to John Lewis in Bluewater to make use of the personalisation and pick n' mix service, which allowed chocoholics to fill a tin with their chosen sweets before giving the iconic purple tin a street name of their choice.

But due to concerns over coronavirus and potential problems around social distancing, the service is not being offered in the department stores this winter but instead via a special online shop launched this week.

Confectioner Nestlé says it will also mean the bespoke tins will now be available to buy all year round.

Visitors to the website can select up to six different sweets or opt for the classic Quality Street mix before personalising their tin with a name of their choice - to a maximum of nine characters.

And in an additional nod to the 'new normal' families are likely to find themselves in this winter - free personalised cards are also available with every order for families looking to gift to those they're unlikely to see over the festive season either due to distance or existing coronavirus restrictions which could be in place.

Ellie Dent, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response to our pop-up stations over the last few years, so we know how much people love to choose the perfect mix of their favourite sweets and personalise their Quality Street tins.

"Until now, you needed to do this by visiting a specific store but, with the launch of www.qualitystreet.co.uk , shoppers in the UK and Ireland can tailor their tins in a matter of clicks, all from the comfort of their own home."
The 1kg tins of Quality Street cost £15.99 plus a £2.99 delivery charge to UK mainland addresses.
