Simon Hooper talks being Forever Outnumbered with book tour which includes Kent stops
With a wife and four daughters dad Simon Hooper is definitely Forever Outnumbered.
The management consultant, who is married to midwife and blogger Clemmie Hooper, burst onto the social media scene in 2016 shortly after his identical twin girls Ottilie and Delilah were born.
The couple, who now live in Thanet after relocating from London, are behind the wildly popular Instagram accounts mother_of_daughters and father_of_daughters, which have more than 1.3 million followers between them.
Following the publication of his wife's second book How To Grow A Baby Journal, Simon is preparing for a launch of his own with the release of Forever Outnumbered, which is out on Thursday, May 3.
‘With four children to parent, a full time job and a social media presence where I share the often untold story of fatherhood, I found myself wondering, “What can I do with the mountains of free time I have available between 10pm and 3am while my family snore upstairs?” The answer was obvious. Write a book documenting the daily trials and tribulations of parenting from a dad’s perspective.
"After nine months of headaches, back pain and sleepless nights, I've finally given birth to my newest arrival in book form and I for one couldn’t be happier.
"This is the story of my journey into parenthood, from being a 24 year old man-child with no idea of what being a dad involved, to where I find myself today" he added.
The management consultant is undertaking a short book tour to mark the book's much anticipated release - making two stops in Kent.
The first event takes place in Canterbury on Tuesday, May 15 at 6.30pm in Rose Lane Waterstones where Simon will be signing books and sharing comical tales of fatherhood. Tickets for this event can be bought here.
The second is a breakfast club event in Tunbridge Wells on Friday, May 18 from 10am until noon at hotel One Warwick Park, where Simon will be sharing his hilarious take on being outnumbered by his girls Anya, 10, Marnie, 7, and the twins who are now two.
Parents are invited to bring their children along to the event, where there will be toys and play equipment to keep youngsters amused, and coffee and pastries for the adults!
Tickets are available to buy from organisers Mum's The Word by clicking here.
Mum's The Word is also behind a Mamas Meet Up event with Clemmie taking place in Whitstable at the end of April - tickets for which have already sold out.
Waterstones will be selling copies of Forever Outnumbered at the event in Tunbridge Wells and Simon will be signing copies after his Q&A.
