Tom Gates TV series The Brilliant World of Tom Gates to begin on Monday, January 25 on Sky Kids
A much loved series of children's books is being turned into a television series and launches this month.
Doodler extraodinaire and master of excuses Tom Gates is being brought to life for legions of young fans who are hooked on the books written and illustrated by Liz Pichon.
The Brilliant World of Tom Gates will follow Tom's crazy creative life at home and school as he torments his teachers, runs rings around his parents and finds new and inventive ways to annoy his sisters.
The cast of voices will include award winning actress Catherine Tate who will take on the role of mum Rita, actor Mark Bonnar and 10-year-old newcomer Logan Matthews in the title role.
The series will also show the creative talents of creator Liz Pichon who is set to inspire young viewers to greater creative endeavours in ‘draw it’ live action segments of the show filmed in her own 'craft den'.
The new series, aimed at boys and girls aged seven to 12, premieres on Sky Kids will show its first episode on January 25.
It coincides with the 10th anniversary year of the first Tom Gates book and the publication, in February, of the 18th in the series, Tom Gates: Ten Tremendous Tales.
