Be Bright Be Seen campaign and free keyrings with Kent County Council and KM Media Group

Be bright and be seen.

That's the life saving message we want to pass on to families as winter approaches together with an enormous giveaway to help keep kids in Kent safe.

Pedestrian and cyclist casualties often increase in the winter months because motorists can struggle to see them during darker evenings.

And with the clocks turning back on Sunday (October 27), and more parents and children preparing to travel backwards and forwards in the dark after half term, road safety teams want to ensure young people in the county are as safe as they possibly can be.

In order to do that the KM Group has once again teamed up with Kent County Council for its Be Bright Be Seen campaign.

Over the next few weeks we will be reminding children and their families how important it is to be visible and how best to stay safe when travelling at dusk or in the dark.

We are also giving away thousands and thousands of reflective key rings for youngsters to use, which not only carry the Be Bright Be Seen reminder, but will help children walking along the pavement or crossing roads to be more visible to passing motorists.

And what's more - following the incredible success of the Be Bright Be Seen campaign over the last two years - this winter we will give away more keyrings than ever before with triple the number now up for grabs than in 2018!

If you're a teacher, sports coach or community leader you can apply for a batch of our free reflective key rings. We also welcome applications from scouting groups, sports teams or other community organisations who have children aged up to 11 in their care.

Applications are open now and whilst we have more key rings to give away than we ever have before, they will be in high demand, so don't delay in submitting yours.
