Royal Mail is once again lending a helping hand to one of its most special customers - Father Christmas.
For 60 years the postal service has been helping children’s letters reach the North Pole and this year’s final posting date for getting letters there in time have now been revealed.
Santa’s team of helpers are gearing up to deliver the hundreds of thousands of letters sent to him by children from all across the UK that will begin dropping into postboxes in the coming weeks.
But because of the very busy Christmas ahead - Royal Mail says children who would like to receive a reply to their letter should post them no later than Monday, December 9 using a stamped envelope and sent to the following address:
Father Christmas,
Santa’s Grotto,
Reindeerland,
XM4 5HQ
Lisa Luveniyali, Royal Mail’s Chief Elf who is in charge of making sure all the letters reach their destination said letters sent by the deadline will get a reply if children include their full name and address.
She explained: “Royal Mail plays a very special part in the nation’s Christmas preparations. We are proud that for over 60 years, Santa has allowed us to help manage the hundreds of thousands of special letters he receives from boys and girls across the country.
“His special team of elves at Royal Mail especially enjoy taking a peek at what children are asking for as well as helping Santa reply to these special letters.
“Don’t forget to use a stamp and include your full name and address on your letter so Santa can reply to you!”
