kmfm Breakfast presenter Laura Crockett announces her pregnancy
The kmfm breakfast team is about to grow a little bigger as Laura (from Garry and Laura) has announced that she and her husband Johnathan are expecting their first baby in the summer.
The duo, who have presented kmfm Breakfast together for almost 5 years, shared the news with their listeners this morning and were overwhelmed with texts and emails congratulating Laura.
Laura told My Kent Family: “So it turns out it wasn’t just lockdown weight gain after all! Johnathan and I are so excited to become parents and I’ll definitely be asking Uncle Garry and our listeners for all the parenting advice and stories. Hopefully, the early starts have got me ready for the sleepless nights!!"
Garry said:“The lack of sleep. The crying. The wailing. The constant need for attention and the non stop demanding to be fed. I honestly don’t know how Laura has put up with me on the Breakfast Show for so long. I imagine looking after a baby will be a doddle in comparison."
A station programmer added: “We are really pleased for Laura and I am sure that many of our listeners will appreciate and relate to the stories that will now follow.
"Although Laura will be off air for a period of time from the end of summer, we will be working behind the scenes with her and will welcome Laura back to the team when the time is right for her.
"In the meantime, we will make an announcement in the coming weeks as to who will be a short-term replacement joining Garry in leading Kent’s Breakfast show.
